AWKWORD Returns to Streaming with Global Warning
New Weekly Podcast and Live Appearances
On July 21, 2020, AWKWORD launched the AWKWORD INTERVIEWS, a video podcast series featuring social justice warriors (and Hip Hop and hardcore legends), publishing the first of what would amount to about 50 interviews. World premiering Friday, October 24, 2025, Global Warning is the reboot, with a new style and format.
The AWKWORD INTERVIEWS series featured one-hour conversations, with a loose emphasis on abolitionist theory and practice; Global Warning will feature 15-minute recorded conversations, with a focus on democracy and anti-fascism — connecting past to present and future, and local to global.
The AWKWORD INTERVIEWS guests included Steven Donziger, Marianne Williamson, Christian Smalls, Sara Nelson, Radley Balko, Alec Karakatsanis, Scott Hechinger, Eliza Orlins, Olayemi Olurin, Samuel Sinyangwe, Kamau Franklin, Cerise Castle, Alex Vitale, Victoria Law, Dylan Rodriguez (seen here), Lord Goat (aka Goretex), and Danny Diablo, among others.
